K-Beauty | The Eyes 👀

HERE we are for round 2 of the K-Beauty series. This time, it’s all about the eyes!

I’LL list some websites at the bottom from where you might be able to find some of these products (if you so choose) should you not have the high streets of Korea outside your door!

ONCE more, for the sake of ease I’m going to divide by store or brand, in no particular order, because everyone’s preferences are different. My “rating” system is 1-5 ❤️’s. If a product receives 1-2, it doesn’t mean it’s bad, but rather that they’re not something I reach for all the time or they don’t tick all of my personal preferences. 3 would be a solid great, and 4-5 shows that the product is something I reach for often!

PRODUCT: Eyeshadow

RATING: ❤️❤️

Etude House

PRODUCT: Eyeshadow

NAME: Pink Skull Color Eyes PK002 / Wonder Fun Park Color Eyes #01 / Wonder Fun Park Color Eyes #02

RATING: ❤️❤️❤️❤️

COMMENT: These were temporary collections and are no longer avaliable, but I include them because I love them and every review I’ve seen by an English speaker was less than positive. I have found all of these wonderfully pigmented, with a good range of colours that have lent themselves to many different looks. I love them and am waiting for the next collection with bated breath!

PRODUCT: Mascara

NAME: Dr Mascara Fixer

RATING: ❤️❤️❤️❤️

COMMENT: I have used both of these and they work. If you want curl or length I would highly recommend these!

etude house mascara fixer

PRODUCT: Mascara

NAME: Oh! M’Eye lash

RATING: ❤️❤️❤️❤️

COMMENT: Not only do I love the name, but I am very fond of this product. At the time of writing this, I have discovered L’Oreal’s Lash Paradise which really is the best mascara ever. Ever. This one isn’t half bad though!

The Face Shop

PRODUCT: Eyeshadow

NAME: Triple Eyes Trio Fards À Paupières

RATING: ❤️❤️❤️

COMMENT: These score so low because they are not something I reach for often, not because I don’t like them, but because the colours are a lot stronger than they are in the pan. What you see in the pan isn’t quiet the true colour, but these trios are lovely and the glitter shadows are delicate but still create an impact. I sent my sister the brown tone one and she loves it!

PRODUCT: Eyeshadow

NAME: My Palette Shadows

RATING: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

COMMENT: Korean eyeshadow formulas haven’t always been the greatest when pitted against their western counterparts, but these shadows are gorgeous. Buttery smooth, so easy to work with and blend, true to pan colour and those colours… There are a huge number of neautrals, but as you can see in the paler palette, there are colours! I’m wearing these on my eyes today, and wear them most days. These were the two palettes that ended up travelling back to the UK with me.

The joy of these is that they’re all magnetic, so you can do into Innisfree and build your own, and they also have blushers, highlighters and contour shades avaliable. It’s marketing genius, and they’ve done a stellar job on the formula!

PRODUCT: Eyeshadow

RATING: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

COMMENT: If the paler innisfree palette above was my approximation of Jeffree Star’s Androgyny Palette, then this my approximation of the Beauty Killer palette. Just as a disclaimer, whether you like Jeffree Star or not, his palettes are beautiful, but these approximations of mine cost less (getting those 1+1 deals), support local brands and allow me to add my own twist to things. The formulas on these shadows are again fabulous, and this is another excellent travel palette!

PRODUCT: Eyeshadow

NAME: HERA eye shadow palette

RATING: ❤️❤️❤️

COMMENT: These shadows are all varying degrees of shimmer, which is why is scores lower on this post. They are, however, stunning and work well with my other palettes, and that packaging… divine!

PRODUCT: Eyeshadow

NAME: Mono Eye Shadows

RATING: ❤️❤️❤️❤️

COMMENT: I had been intending to put other shadows into this palette (I have a small obsession with fruit, if you hadn’t noticed) but Aritaum’s shadows are an odd size, just that tiny bit smaller than most generic small circular eyeshadow pans! So, alas, I had to purchase me some shadows. This is what I’ve got so far. They are pretty darn good, if I do say so myself. Korean beauty brands are really upping their eyeshadow game!

PRODUCT: Eyeliner

NAME: IDOL Brush Eyeliner

RATING: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

COMMENT: This has been my go to eyeliner for a good eight months now. The colour is dark, it stays in place and it’s easy to apply!

PRODUCT: Mascara

NAME: IDOL Long Lash Mascara

RATING: ❤️❤️❤️❤️

COMMENT: This is on par with the etude house mascara. This one is a little lighter and has tiny hairs in the mascara itself to legthen your lashes. It adds length in a delicate way so your eyelashes are defined and lengthened, but don’t overshadow the face of makeup look. If anything this one may edge the etude house one… slightly!

PRODUCT: Eyeshadow

NAME: Mono Shadow

RATING: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

COMMENT: These were something I stumbled across. I had purchased a couple of Aritaum shadows and was looking for colours more like these. I then wandered into Artbox, and there they were. I am in love with them. They are pigmented, but lovely subtle colours. I had hoped that they would have fitted into the Aritaum palette, but it wasn’t meant to be. I’m not too fussed, however, as these are that good!

PRODUCT: Eyeliner

NAME: Longwear Bold Pen Eyeliner

RATING: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

COMMENT: This is amazing. It was a free gift with purchase when I bought the eyeshadows, and I will be purchasing this again! It’s a very thick felt-tip pen tip that you’d assume would cause all sorts of bother, but used with a careful hand this draws a lovely wing that stays in place. I am in love!

PRODUCT: Eyeliner

RATING: ❤️❤️❤️

COMMENT: If you like gel eyeliners, this is a pretty good one. I’m still learning when it comes to gel liners, but I have been enjoying this product immensely. I’m just not very adept at it yet!
