NL | Proofreader & ESL Teacher

There is one truism in life that is constant: The plans will change.

No matter how organised you are, how many lists you make, or how firmly set you are in your plans, rest assured they will change.  Currently, my plans are in a constant state of flux, but I’m rolling with it! You never know what is going to be thrown your way and often times, the best you can do is roll with it.

Which leads me to this post title. Before there is any worry about the content of this blog – never fear. This Geeky teacher is still going to feature worksheets, crafts,  monthly best of’s and all the other posts in-between! I’m just going to be doing a few different things in the background.

In the six years I’ve been teaching, I have proofread a plethora of documents or varying kinds. As an ESL teacher, proofreading comes along with the job, and it’s something I’ve really enjoyed. On my return to the UK, I decided to see if I could find a way to use my ESL and proofreading experience to help international students in the UK. It’s hard enough to study abroad, never mind in your second – or perhaps third – language.

On top of that, I can’t really let the who ESL thing go, so I’m delving into the land of online teaching and 1:1 tutoring. Watch this space, we’ll see how it goes!

If you would like to know more, or know anyone who may be in need of proofreading services, further information and a contact form can be found over on

business cards
Yes, of course I used this as the perfect excuse to create my own business cards! I’m a little in love with them!
