And we’re back!!! It feels like such a long time since I’ve posted anything school related (because it has) but I’m finally back – and just in time for any last minute winter camp plans you have going down.
Narnia is synonymous with Christmas for me, the film release of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe during the Christmas holidays probably had a lot to do with this! I love basing my camps on books that also have films because it really helps max out the range of activities available to you.
I originally ran this camp in my first winter in Jinhae but, alas, USB Gate 2017 robbed me of most of the original files. However, when I was searching for materials to show teachers during a mini english-camps lecture, I found all the printouts that I just hadn’t got around to recycling. I decided that I would re-format the camp slightly, put the worksheets back together from the pieces I had found, and see if there was anything new I could add. So here is part 1 of the Narnia Camp Reboot!
During this camp we made our own wardrobe, learnt about heraldry and made a shield, watched the movie, and did some worksheets using extracts from the book. Today, I’m kicking off with an easy one – the game PPT.
It’s a fairly standard quiz PPT, as you can see from the slide overview below. The PPT is blank and ready for you to populate with your own questions, pictures and answers. You can make the questions focus on the film, the book, grammar points, or whatever strikes your fancy, or suits where you are placing the game during your camp.
You’ll find at the end of the PPT download. You will also need to download the Narnia font from here.
Next Narnia Reboot post, I’ll be taking you through how we made the wardrobes, and the extract I used from the book!
If you fancy keeping this geeky teacher running, want chip in for resources, or want to keep me going with that finest of energy juices!
